The 5 Strongest Bankai in Bleach – Anime and Manga – Info

For those not familiar with Bleach, this is a famous anime based on the Shonen Jump manga of the same name by Tite Kubo. Bleach aired for a staggering eight years from 2004 to 2012 spanning 366 episodes and 4 films. The perfect anime for parties to watch if you are looking for something that will leave a lasting impression for a long time.

Getting into the details, Bleach is about Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager who can see and talk with spirits. His life changed when the Soul Reaper (Shinigami) entered his life. Soul Reapers are basically people who send lost souls to where they are supposed to be after death and also cleanse Hollows (corrupted souls) of their sins. Their weapon is a sword called a Zanpakutō, which has unique abilities and powers. Bankai is the second stage of the Zanpakutō’s powers. It is considered to be one of the most powerful tools a Shinigami has.

Following are the rankings of the 5 Strongest Bankai:

5. Kenpachi Zaraki’s Nameless Bankai

Kenpachi Zaraki never actually came up with the name of his Zanpakutō, unlike other Shinigami. However, he was still the 11th captainth division due to his fighting abilities which allowed him to kill previous division captains. After his first defeat against Ichigo, we see Kenpachi asking the name of his sword knowing full well that it is too late to do so. Despite not knowing the name of his sword, he manages to activate Bankai which transforms Kenpachi into a red-skinned demon with tremendous power. It also allowed him to cut from a distance which made him even stronger. In short, Kenpachi and his Bankai are a force to be reckoned with.

4) Tensa Zangetsu Ichigo Kurosaki

Ichigo’s Bankai is extremely destructive, to such an extent that it is capable of destroying some of the strongest characters in Bleach. Ichigo’s Bankai makes his Zanpakutō considerably smaller, this is because it condenses all his strength giving him the insane strength and speed he can unleash to defeat his enemies. In its true state, Ichigo’s Zanpakutō fuses the two blades making him stronger than before with the Quincy and Soul Reaper’s inner powers combined. With his strength, it’s no wonder Ichigo is the protagonist of the anime.

3. Shunsui Kyōraku Katen Kyōkotsu Karamatsu Shinjū

Yes, the name Bankai Shunsui does sound really good, but still, it’s very effective and very powerful. So strong that Shunsui has to make sure that his allies are at a safe distance before activating them. Katen Kyōkotsu’s power envelops the enemy in a cold, dark and lonely space. Every wound that occurs on Shunsui’s body also reflects on his opponents (such as Hidan from Naruto,) it covers the opponent’s body at spots that are starting to bleed, it makes them feel hopelessness and inexorable pain. And finally, allowing Shunsui to chop off the enemy’s head with a thread stuck to his finger. Deadly and scary, this Bankai should be in the top 3.

2) Kannonbiraki Benihime Aratame Kisuke Urahara

Kisuke’s Bankai takes the unique form of a giant woman which allows her to restructure or dismantle anything that gets in her way. It also includes fatal and healing wounds that make him an absolute beast as it delivers both, great attack and spectacular defense.

The giant woman also acts as a separate entity giving Urahara additional support if she needs it and with her brilliant tactics and intelligence, she can use this power like no one else has thought. So it’s not only ability that makes this our number 2, the way Urahara makes use of this ability makes him even stronger than before.

1) Zanka no Tachi from Genryūsai Yamamoto

The old and frail-looking Head-Captain of all 13 of the Soul Society Division. His appearance made many people underestimate him but that quickly changed when his Zanpakutō power was revealed. Ryujin Jakka is the oldest and strongest fire-type Zanpakutō in existence. In the Bankai state, it absorbs all the flames it generates in its initial state and if it is cut, any opponents will burn to nothing. So strong that once activated, even the air and humidity in the entire area began to dry out. If used for too long, this Bankai can destroy all enemies, the entire Soul Society and Yamamoto himself. The strength was so strong, that the user had to make sure he didn’t take it too far. Totally deserves the Number 1 spot.
