Taichi and The Chosen Ones’ journey continues with their journey with their partner’s Digimon. A difficult battle helps in the Immortal Continent, where Yamato and Gabumon show signs of new strength, and that form will soon be revealed. Meanwhile, Machmon is racing alone, and Taichi arrives at the scene with the Chosen Ones. Taichi asked what this place was, and Gabumon felt a strange power. Izzy notices that it is Machmon and the place looks like a racing circuit.
Gabumon tells Yamato that he wants to race, and Yamato takes his Digimon Watch to join Gabumon. The two of them entered Gabumon’s evolution and transformed into Garurumon. They started racing, and Machmon noticed that. He stopped and asked what they wanted. Garurumon replied that he wanted to challenge Machmon in a lap race. Machmon asked Garurumon if he liked racing, and he replied that he liked it. Garurumon comments that if Yamato was together, he could run faster than he imagined.

Garurumon asks Machamon to race them, and Machmon comments that he can’t do it. He reveals that no one has ever beaten him, and he is afraid that they will lose. Racing with the loser was a waste of time, and he started his training. Garurumon decided to challenge him even though he was training. Garurumon comments that they will see who will lose. Izzy and other watches, as well as Izzy reveal that this racing circuit is approximately 2,500 meters long with three big turns.
Izzy’s partner Digmon asks him what a turning turn means, and he reveals that it was a turn where the trail tilted so that the outside was higher. Garurumon continues to race against Machmon. But Machmon thinks he’s practicing, and Izzy explains everything about racing to his Digimon. Garurumon manages to equalize with Machmon, who becomes furious. Machomon realized that no one had ever leveled up with him in a race. Yamato told Garurumon to stay like this. Garurumon comments that they will lead this way.
Machmon unleashed his sword and attacked Garurumo, who jumped away. Yamato wonders why Machmon is attacking them since it’s a race. Machmon fired a laser beam which Garurumon avoided by sliding sideways. Izzy reports to Chosen Ones that Machmon attacked Garurumon. Tailmon comments that he knows about it, and that this has become the Digital World Grand Prix Circuit. Hikaru asked Tailmon about it, and Tailmon revealed that the origins of the Digital World Grand Prix are unclear.

He also reveals that this is an old festival where fast Digimon gather and compete for the title of fastest Digimon. It is also a death race where any action is allowed while racing. Garurumon didn’t notice, and he thought Machmon was cheating. Machmon thinks that Garurumon is aware because he has challenged him and his skills look like someone who has been in a race before. Garurumon asks Machmon if this is how he races. He asked her to explain, but Machmon continued to race while attacking.
Machmon realizes that there is no time to talk when you enter this race, and this is only time for action. But things got worse when Machmon lost his balance, and he started rolling over. Yamato and Grurumon noticed that he was about to hit the tunnel wall and decided to save him. Garurumon uses his body as a shield to protect Machmon, but he ends up crashing into a wall. Machno wonders why they are protecting him rather than winning the race. Garurumon changes back to his Gabumon form, and he passes out.
Then Gabumon wakes up, and Machmon apologizes. They see that Machmon has been with the Grand Prix for years, and he becomes the King of Wolrd Digimon Grand Prix. Machmon informs them that the other Digimon have been giving up since he continues to win races, and they are tired of losing. Then they decide to race against each other without fighting, and Garurumon turns into Metalgarurumon. During the race, Parasimon infected Machmon, and Metalgarurumon saved him.
