The story goes around the time when Goguryeo was one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea. Princess Pyeong Gang became the 25th ruler of Goguryeo and ruled the kingdom from 559-590 AD. She was the only woman ever to be the ruler of Gorguryeo. Meanwhile, On Dal is an ordinary person who rises to the rank of an extraordinary general. He married Pyeong Gang and served in the kingdom under his rule. Choi Sagyu’s novel “Princess Pyeong Gang” is based on their story. While not everything in this novel or series is historically accurate, the main plot and events are largely the same.

The series follows the story of the daughter of Pyeong Gang, who was raised as a soldier. She is a woman with big dreams and boundless ambitions because she wants to become the first Empress of Goguryeo. In order to achieve his dream, he stood in front of the obstacle and faced it head on. However, his life changed for the better when he met On Dal.
