Sanya Malhotra is set to play the role of a widowed woman in a dilemma in her upcoming film titled Pagglait. It’s rare to see a film that has a comedy around death. Sanya Malhotra’s latest drama film tries to graciously try a difficult genre.
Pagglait The teaser takes us inside the home of a small town Indian family who recently suffered a major loss. The young and beloved son of the house has died, leaving behind his family and a wife – Sandhya. As the trailer starts, we find out that Sandhya’s husband’s name is Astik, and it has only been five months since the two of them got married. We then look at his brother, calling Astik a problem as now he has left Sandhya widowed and she is bald. According to Hindu rituals, male mourners from a family undergo tonsillectomy as a sign of mourning. But clearly, it felt more like an annoying task for him.
Sanya was later seen on social media where people had posted messages, mourning Astik’s death. They send condolences to the family via text and comments. And this feels more or less like a regular post for him, the one he reads about, while in bed. Worried about Sandhya’s behavior as if nothing had happened, the next day, her friend decided to talk to her. Horrified, he asked if there was something wrong with him. And finally, Sandhya responded, taking all of us by surprise. Sandhya says that in her childhood, her family used to pet a dead cat when a car hit her. When he found out about this, he was so inconsolable that he refused to eat for three days straight. But now, when her husband died, she didn’t feel that way at all. She didn’t want to cry at all. On the contrary, he felt hungry all the time.
There are endless possibilities this story can cover. Maybe her husband is not worthy enough to be mourned for, or maybe something is wrong with their relationship. But at this point, all of our assumptions will be in vain. In order to get the slightest hint of it, we need to wait for it Netflix dropped the official trailer of the film. And not to forget, the audience is quite impressed by the plot of the upcoming film.
What did the leading woman say?
Talking about her film and the teaser being released on her birthday, Sandhya said in a statement that she is really excited to announce a film, which is very close to her heart. And being able to share his first look on his birthday made him even better. Talking about Sandhya’s role essay, she felt that it was something different from all the other roles she had previously portrayed. For him, that is Pagglait the journey is serious Pagglait, meaning annoying. Dangal girl now can’t wait for the world to witness the unique story in her upcoming film.
