Narappa, a Telugu action drama, is finally here, as it aims to do another success story like the original Tamil film Asuran. Taking on this project, Srikanth Addala has taken over the workload of Vetrimaaran. Now, remake can only put him above or below his previous rendition. Venkatesh Daggubati will take over the titular role of Narappa. Meanwhile, the female lead will be played by Priyamani who is Narappa’s wife, Sundaramma. Karthik Rathnam will play their eldest son Munikanna. In addition to the main character, there are many other supporting characters. While the film was originally set for a theatrical release, there was a change in plans after the second wave of COVID-19 hit the country. In this article, we will take a look at the new Narappa Release Date and how people can watch the film.

As mentioned above, Narappa is a remake of the Asuran Tamil film. The film itself is based on Poomani’s novel, Vekkai. The remake is said to be a scene-to-scene, frame-to-frame, and dialogue-to-dialogue remake. It comes with additional fight choreography performed by Peter Hein. Just a few days ago, an official lyric song was also released to promote the film. The song titled “Chalaaki Chinnammi” is sung by Aditya Iyengar and Nutana Mohan and released on YouTube. This video does get the response it deserves. Co-produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and Suresh Babu, Narappa is the story of a dispossessed father who will go to the depths of his limits to save his family. The incident took place in Ramasagaram and Siripi after a series of events caused Narappa’s son to commit a horrendous act.

Narappa Release Date

Narappa will be released on July 20, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. The film was initially confirmed for production in November 2019. The title of the film was revealed later in January 2020. Filming finally started with principal photography a short time later on 22 January 2020. It first started in Paalturu, a village near Uravakonda, Anantapur District. Later, filming was moved to Tamil Nadu, which was immediately halted following the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic in March. Later, shooting was rumored to be recommencing in October 2020. But soon, this was updated as filming resumed in Hyderabad on November 9, 2020. Currently, 80% of the shooting has been completed. And then, after some time, filming finished at the end of January 2021.

Then came the second wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic. This stops the post-production and dubbing process. The film was originally slated for a theatrical release on May 14, 2021, but the dubbing of Venkatesh itself was not completed until May 2021. So, Narappa’s release date has been postponed to an undisclosed date.
