Big Brother Canada is a Canadian television reality game show, where a group of contestants named HouseGuests live in a custom-made house. They are under constant audio and video surveillance and have no communication with the outside world. The show’s feed is available for viewers to watch via special networks and websites. While indoors, they do not have access to luxuries such as the internet and telephones. Each week, one of the contestants is chosen by the other members of the house. And the person who survives the end of the season is dubbed the winner who receives a $ 100,000 prize and other luxuries. What really brings about change in this show are the rules that tend to change over time.
Big Brother Canada Season 8 is planned to run for 83 episodes and has a total of 16 HouseGuests. However, this soon changed because for the first time in the franchise we witnessed the removal of two HouseGuests that broke the rules of the house. Things are getting wasted once the COVID-19 Pandemic has started. This means Season 8 production will have to stop. The season was limited to a total of 25 days with 11 episodes. When the season was cut, there were no winners and a prize money of CA $ 100,000 was donated to a COVID-19 relief charity. Production finally halted on March 24, 2020 with the Season ending episodes airing on April 1, 2020.
Then when GlobalTV was at a loss, the next season was in doubt. And almost after four months of cancellation, the Canadian Brother was extended for a ninth season. It will be performed by Arisa Cox, who has even been named the Executive Producer of the show.
