There are tons of great films in the pipeline this year, and Army of the Dead is no different. We’ll cover the Army of the Dead release date, and every other detail there is to know about the film in this post. Following the hype like all of American director Zack Snyder’s films, Army of the Dead is due out this year. Zack Snyder’s production company, The Stone Quarry, will produce the film for Netflix. In June 2008, the film was announced as a direct sequel to Dawn of the Dead 2004. Several years later, in January 2019, the film was incomplete when Netflix acquired the distribution rights from Warner Bros.

Apart from being a film director, Zack Snyder also served as a producer, wrote stories, co-wrote the screenplay, and even became a cinematographer for the film. This film was very high budget with an estimated $ 90 million as its final record budget. This is a mediocre amount for a normal film to be released in theaters. However, this is very high for movies streaming on Netflix. Other screenwriters are Shay Hatten and Joby Harold.

Movie First View

Dawn of the Dead features a small number of humans who survive a zombie outbreak taking refuge in a suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin shopping center. Unfortunately, the shopping center is surrounded by zombies. However, unlike Dawn of the Dead, this film is a robbery film in an apocalyptic world. This film is set several years after the events of Dawn of the Dead. Army of the Dead follows the story after the zombie outbreak in Las Vegas. A group of mercenaries take what could be the last gamble of their lives as they venture into the quarantine zone to commit the biggest theft anyone has ever committed.

What to Expect in Movies?

Army of the Dead release date

David Bautista and Ella Purnell

Due to the thoughtful production approach to film promotion, there isn’t much information about Army of the Dead. However, here’s everything you can expect in an upcoming film.

First, Netflix rated the film as 18+ for language, violence, and sex scenes.

Zack Snyder said that the film will follow the warm and emotional journey of an extraordinary character.

The film will completely revolve around Dave Bautista as he plans a heist with his crew.

The film will feature Dave Bautista holding several green glow sticks. He can use it to fend off zombies.

Zack Snyder’s 2004 film, Dawn of the Dead featured a new approach to zombies’ physical abilities where they had the speed and stamina of an Olympic runner. However, it seems that in this film, Zack decided to follow the cliché concept of slow zombies. Even so, it’s no surprise that we can see another twist in the story.

Almost a year before the release of the film, Netflix has started preparing prequel films and anime series as spinoffs of the film. Both were announced in September 2020.

Matthias Schweighofer will star in the prequel film as the central character.
